Regulations on CBD and Hemp Product Labels
As the industry grows, regulators continue to debate how to rein in rogue manufacturers who aren’t monitoring heavy metal contaminants and other safety issues in CBD products. Hemp has been removed from the Controlled Substances list, which makes it legal for manufacturers to sell across state lines. But the FDA still has the right and responsibility to protect consumers from harmful substances, so producers are advised to follow all FDA regulations. Additionally, California manufacturers and those selling to California residents must follow Proposition 65 labeling requirements.
